Where the money goes
Big 12 stance
The Big 12 Conference and its member institutions take great pride in developing well-rounded student-athletes that not only excel in athletics, but also in the classroom and their communities, and most importantly, are given the tools to succeed in life.
“Big 12 Champions for Life” is our way of recognizing the often-overlooked narratives behind these amazing individuals. We want to introduce you to these student-athletes so they can tell their stories, express their desires, and share their dreams by highlighting their successes on and off the field.
These student-athletes are part of the other side of intercollegiate athletics that we don’t hear enough about. Their stories are ones of human interest and inspiration. Many are first generation scholars who have used their athletic scholarship to become the first in their family to attend college. There are stories of those who overcame their environment, those that balance the demands of higher education and athletics participation, and still find time for community service activities. There are so many good stories to share that tell the true excellence of our student-athletes.
It is my hope that you visit Big12ChampionsforLife.com frequently to learn about the student-athletes profiled. If you happen to know one of these young competitors, I sincerely hope you will take a moment to congratulate them for their excellence.
